“Akun” has been the word of
the day since our arrival in Cambodia. It is the traditional Cambodian way of
saying ‘Thank you’ (in Khmer, the language of Cambodia) by placing the palms of
the hands together like in a praying gesture. Thank you, a word that is rarely
spoken but one that holds so much meaning - meaning of appreciation, meaning
of acknowledgment.
