A day in the countryside (CAMBODIA DAY 2)

Today, we visited the countryside and had lunch with a family living in the countryside. Life in the city is much different from that in the countryside. The countryside is laid back and you see people relaxing under the cool shade discussing, having fun, and playing games by the lake. Although you actually see more foreign tourists in the city than in the countryside, the city area is not as serene as the countryside. We also visited the floating village. It was intriguing to see a village built on top of water. The people living in the floating village have their own school, transportation, market and other amenities built on top of the water. We also visited the Beng Mealea temple which was featured in one of the Indiana Jones movies. This temple is unique as it was not renovated and was infact left untouched after its ruin. I totally enjoyed visiting this temple as it felt like we were discovering the temple for ourselves.
